There are many schools of thought that investors, especially newer more active ones, look past to their own detriment. One of the most overlooked areas, in my opinion, is sentiment analysis. Just like anything else, we can make it as simple or sophisticated as we’d like. I’ve spent a lot of time over the years analyzing sentiment in various ways and my conclusion is that sentiment work can be very helpful but it can also be time consuming. This is certainly not “be all, end all” but it’s worth a look if you’re new to sentiment analysis, pressed for time, or both.
